Description

The Knightsbridge NETBTSBK is a 25 x 50mm BT telephone secondary outlet module designed for use with euro-module grid faceplates. The module provides a secondary telephone extension point using insulation displacement connection (IDC) terminals that pierce the cable insulation on installation, eliminating the need to strip individual conductors before terminating.

Designed for residential, office and hospitality installations where a telephone extension point is needed away from the master socket, the module fits into standard euro-module grid systems alongside other modules such as data sockets, HDMI ports and USB charging points. The 25mm width occupies one module position within a grid faceplate, allowing up to two modules in a standard twin aperture plate or four modules in a quad plate.

The module requires a minimum mounting box depth of 25mm and projects 21mm behind the faceplate once installed. The ABS construction in black finish blends with most grid faceplate finishes, and the IP20 rating confirms suitability for dry indoor locations. Certification to BS 5733 confirms the module meets British Standards for telephone outlet requirements.

What is an IDC terminal and how does it work?

IDC stands for insulation displacement connection. The terminal contains sharp metal blades that pierce through the cable insulation when the cable is pressed into place, making contact with the conductor inside without needing to strip the individual wires first. This speeds installation and reduces the chance of wiring errors.

Can this be used as a master telephone socket?

No. This is a secondary outlet module designed for extension points only. The master socket must be a dedicated BT master socket installed by a qualified telecoms engineer or provided by your telephone service provider.

What grid faceplate systems is this compatible with?

The module is compatible with standard euro-module grid faceplates that accept 25 x 50mm modules. Knightsbridge produces a range of grid faceplates in various finishes and aperture counts. Use the search function to find compatible plates in stock at Niori.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 25mm mounting box depth is required. The module projects 21mm behind the faceplate, so shallower back boxes will not accommodate the module safely.
