Description
The BT EVO is a 300mm emergency LED bulkhead built for commercial, industrial and outdoor installation where weatherproofing, impact resistance and battery-backed emergency lighting are required. The polycarbonate housing and diffuser carry an IP65 rating against water ingress and an IK10 impact rating, meeting the standards for car parks, loading bays, external staircases and corridors where fixtures face weather exposure and physical contact.
The integrated emergency function provides up to 3 hours of illumination during mains failure, powered by a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery known for longer cycle life and lower self-discharge than older nickel-cadmium alternatives. Wattage is adjustable at installation between 14W, 16W and 18W, and colour temperature can be switched between 3000K, 4000K and 5700K to match the intended environment without needing multiple SKUs. At 18W on 4000K the fitting delivers 1800 lumens across a 130-degree beam, covering typical 3-4m ceiling-to-floor heights in corridors and staircases.
The bulkhead supports DALI dimming for integration with building management systems and also offers push-dim functionality where DALI is not available. Installation uses push-fit terminals, a hinged gear tray for access to the driver and emergency module, and a twist-lock diffuser that removes without tools. Multiple conduit entry points on the base plate allow cable entry from different angles depending on wall or ceiling mounting. The polycarbonate is UV-stabilised to resist yellowing under sunlight. The standard finish is white; optional bezels in matt black, chrome and eyelid designs are available separately.

Frequently Asked
How long does the emergency battery last during power failure?
The integrated LiFePO4 battery provides up to 3 hours of emergency illumination when mains power is lost. The battery charges automatically when mains power is restored and is designed for longer cycle life than traditional nickel-cadmium cells.
Can the wattage and colour temperature be adjusted after installation?
Yes. Both wattage (14W, 16W, 18W) and colour temperature (3000K, 4000K, 5700K) are adjustable via switches accessible when the diffuser and gear tray are opened. These settings are configured during installation but can be changed later without rewiring.
Is this suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. The IP65 rating protects against water jets from any direction, and the IK10 impact rating meets the standard for external lighting in car parks, loading bays and building perimeters. The UV-stabilised polycarbonate resists yellowing under sunlight.
What dimming systems does it support?
The BT EVO supports DALI dimming for integration with building management systems. It also offers push-dim functionality where DALI is not available, allowing dimming via the mains switch.
