Description
The BT Evo is a 300mm emergency LED bulkhead with selectable wattage (9W, 14W or 18W) and colour temperature (3000K, 4000K or 5700K), set via dip switches inside the housing before installation. An integral LiFePO4 battery provides 3 hours of emergency light at 120 lumens when mains power is lost, with maintained, non-maintained or switched emergency modes available depending on wiring configuration.
Designed for commercial, industrial and public sector sites requiring code-compliant emergency lighting, the BT Evo suits corridors, stairwells, car parks, loading bays and external covered areas. The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets, while the IK10 impact rating withstands vandalism and accidental contact in high-traffic environments. Class II construction removes the need for an earth connection, and the polycarbonate housing accepts BESA boxes and conduit entry for site-standard installation methods.
The opal diffuser spreads a 120-degree beam across the surface below, with lumen output varying from 890lm to 1750lm depending on wattage and CCT settings. The white polycarbonate housing resists UV degradation and corrosion in outdoor applications, and the clip-on bezel system allows the white bezel to be replaced with coloured bezels (sold separately) without removing the bulkhead from the ceiling. CRI >85 ensures adequate colour rendering for safety signage and wayfinding.
The constant-current driver and SMD LED array carry a 5-year warranty covering both the light source and the LiFePO4 battery, with an L70B50 rating of 50,000 hours indicating the LED will maintain at least 70% of its original output after 50,000 hours of operation under typical conditions.

Frequently Asked
How is the wattage and colour temperature adjusted?
Both settings are controlled by dip switches inside the housing. The bulkhead must be opened and the switches set before wiring and installation — they cannot be changed once the unit is mounted and sealed without removing it from the ceiling.
What is the difference between maintained, non-maintained and switched emergency modes?
Maintained mode keeps the bulkhead on continuously, switching to battery during power loss. Non-maintained mode keeps the bulkhead off during normal operation and only activates on mains failure. Switched mode allows the bulkhead to be controlled by a wall switch during normal use, but overrides to on during power loss. The mode is set by wiring configuration during installation.
Can this be used outdoors?
Yes. The IP65 rating protects against rain and water jets, and the UV-resistant polycarbonate housing prevents degradation from sunlight. Outdoor installation requires the bulkhead to be mounted under a covered area or overhang to avoid direct water pooling on the surface.
How long does the emergency battery last?
The LiFePO4 battery provides 3 hours of emergency light at 120 lumens when fully charged. The battery is covered under the 5-year warranty and is designed to maintain performance over thousands of charge cycles typical in commercial emergency lighting applications.
