Description

Here is a ceiling light with a fan built into the same body, so one point overhead gives you both light and moving air. The light source is an integrated LED that tunes from a warm, yellow-toned white through to a crisp cool white, and it dims from the remote supplied with it or from an app on your phone. The blades are reversible, and the fan runs in reverse as well at a single speed, so it can push air down through the room in summer and turn the other way to stir warm air in winter. Across the blades it spans 150cm.

That size asks for space, so we would put it in an open-plan kitchen and dining room, a large bedroom, a loft conversion or a garden room that traps heat in the afternoon. It is one we reach for when a customer is otherwise looking at a pendant plus a separate floor fan, since this does both jobs from one ceiling point and one remote. The tuneable white earns its keep in a room used all day: cooler and brighter over the worktop at breakfast, warm and turned down low for the evening. At 20W the light is cheap to leave running while the fan turns.

The finish is black throughout, blades included, which keeps the whole thing reading as one shape rather than a light stuck under a fan. Dust settles on the top edge of blades more than anywhere else, so run a dry cloth along them now and then with the power off, and keep water off the housing. The driver and the LED are sealed in, so there is no lamp to buy or change. It carries a five year warranty. How wide is it, and how far does it drop below the ceiling?

The blades span 1500mm and the fitting stands 450mm tall, so allow for that drop when you are judging headroom.

Can I change the colour of the light?

Yes. It tunes anywhere between 2700K and 5000K, from a warm domestic white to a cool daylight white, and dims across that whole range.

How is it controlled?

By the included remote or by the app, both of which handle on/off, dimming and the white tuning. The fan direction is set the same way.

Do I need to buy a bulb?

No. The LED and its driver are integrated, drawing 20W in total.

How do I clean the blades?

Switch off first, then wipe each blade with a dry or barely damp cloth, supporting it as you go so you are not putting force on the motor housing. Avoid solvents on the black finish.

Is it suitable for a bathroom or utility room?

It is rated for splashes rather than direct water, so it is fine in a humid utility or shower room away from the spray itself.
