Description

The Knightsbridge BL5BLBK is a surface-mount blue LED brick light built from black polycarbonate with an opal diffuser and an integrated 5W SMD LED array. The fitting is IP65-rated against dust and water jets, making it suitable for outdoor pathways, garden steps, patio edges and external wall installations where low-level blue accent lighting is needed.

The surface-mount design fixes directly to external walls without cutting into brickwork, giving a similar visual effect to a recessed brick light while avoiding the masonry work. A retrofit kit to convert this fitting to recessed installation is available separately but not included. The fitting is 235mm wide, 100mm tall and projects 32mm from the wall once mounted, providing enough depth to house the driver and LED module while maintaining a low profile.

Three interchangeable accessories ship with the fitting: a protective grille, a louvre baffle to control light spill, and a plain shade. These clip into the front aperture, allowing the light output to be tailored to the installation without changing the fitting itself. The blue LED emits 65 lumens at 5W (20.26lm/W efficacy) and is non-dimmable. The polycarbonate housing is impact-resistant and UV-stable, designed to withstand prolonged outdoor exposure in UK weather.

Does this require cutting into brickwork?

No. The fitting is designed for surface mounting directly onto walls, avoiding the need to cut out sections of brickwork. A separate retrofit kit can convert it to recessed installation if needed, but the kit is not included and must be purchased separately.

What are the three accessories used for?

The grille provides additional impact protection for the diffuser. The louvre restricts upward and downward light spill, directing the beam horizontally. The plain shade gives an unobstructed diffused output. All three clip into the front aperture and can be swapped depending on the application.

Is the blue LED dimmable?

No. The integrated 5W SMD LED runs on a constant-current driver and is not compatible with dimmer switches.

Can this be used in wet locations like swimming pool areas?

The IP65 rating protects against dust and water jets from any direction, making it suitable for most outdoor applications including patios, pathways and garden walls. For permanent submersion or high-pressure wash-down areas, a higher IP rating (IP67 or IP68) would be more appropriate.
