Description
The Bern is a white powder-coated aluminium spike light with an integrated 15W LED delivering 3000K warm white light through a frosted glass diffuser. The cylindrical head adjusts through approximately 90 degrees on a friction hinge, allowing the beam to be directed at plant borders, architectural features, or along pathways. The ground spike extends from 13.3cm to 22.2cm in height, giving adjustment for different soil depths and planting bed levels.
Designed for year-round outdoor installation in gardens, patios and driveways, the Bern carries an IP65 rating that protects the internal components from dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The aluminium body resists corrosion in coastal and wet climates, and the white finish remains stable under UV exposure. The spike pushes into soil, gravel or bark mulch without needing a concrete base, making repositioning straightforward during seasonal planting changes.
The frosted glass lens eliminates hot spots and glare, diffusing the 15W output into a broad wash suitable for ground-level illumination of borders up to 2-3m wide or upward accent lighting of trees and wall textures. The 3000K colour temperature sits between neutral and warm white, rendering greens and browns naturally without the yellow cast of warmer LEDs. The AC 110-240V input accepts UK mains voltage and the integrated driver removes the need for external transformers.

Frequently Asked
Is the Bern suitable for coastal locations?
Yes. The powder-coated aluminium body resists corrosion and the IP65 rating protects against saltwater spray and rain. However, periodic rinsing with fresh water will extend the finish life in high-salt environments.
Can the light angle be adjusted after installation?
Yes. The cylindrical head tilts on a friction hinge that holds the selected angle once set. The hinge can be re-adjusted at any time to redirect the beam as planting layouts change or to highlight different features.
What ground types can the spike be installed in?
The spike pushes into soil, gravel, bark mulch and sand. Very hard or compacted clay may require pre-drilling a pilot hole. The spike is not suitable for concrete or tarmac surfaces without a separate mounting base.
Does the light require a transformer?
No. The Bern operates on AC 110-240V mains voltage with an integrated driver. It connects directly to standard outdoor mains wiring installed by a qualified electrician, without needing an external transformer or controller.
