Description
The Berg is a square in-ground uplight that recesses flush into paving, decking or a driveway so it sits level with the surface and can be walked or driven over. It takes a GU10 PAR16 lamp drawing up to 7W from a 220-240V AC mains supply, throwing a wide upward beam that grazes the face of a wall, tree or facade above it. American buyers will recognise this format as an in-grade or well light, the recessed walk-over fitting used to wash a surface with light from below rather than a staked spike sitting proud of the ground.
The fitting suits front paths, patios, driveways and decked areas where a buried fixture needs to take foot or vehicle traffic without protruding. Its wide spread makes it well placed close to a wall or planting that you want lit across its width, and several can be run in a line to mark an entrance or boundary. Because the light points upward to highlight a single feature rather than fill a room, coverage is best judged by the surface it washes and the distance it throws up the wall, not by a floor area. Allow for cable routing and drainage below the recess when planning each position.
Build is aluminium alloy with plastic components and a stainless steel face, finished in steel for a clean surface flush with the ground. It carries an IP67 rating, so it is sealed against dust and temporary immersion and is fit for fully exposed outdoor and wet sites, while the IK10 impact rating covers being trodden on or driven over. Measuring 130 x 130 x 164 mm and weighing 908 g, it mounts in-ground via the recessed body with the GU10 lamp serviced from the top. The Berg range includes further in-ground options for matching a run across a site.

Frequently Asked
Can it be walked or driven over?
Yes. The Berg recesses flush into the ground or decking and carries an IK10 impact rating, so it withstands foot traffic and vehicle loads. Set it level with the surrounding surface so the face sits flush for safe walk-over and drive-over use.
Is it suitable for fully exposed outdoor and wet locations?
Yes. It is rated IP67, meaning it is sealed against dust and protected against temporary immersion in water. That makes it fit for driveways, paths and patios that are open to rain and standing water.
Does it take a separate bulb, and which type?
The Berg uses a GU10 PAR16 lamp rated up to 7W, which is specified separately rather than integrated. This lets you choose the colour temperature and output that suit the surface you are uplighting, and replace the lamp from the top of the recess when needed.
How do I clean it once it is installed?
Wipe the stainless steel face and glass with a soft damp cloth to clear grit, leaf debris and water marks that build up at ground level. Avoid abrasive pads on the lens, and keep the drainage around the recess clear so water does not pool over the fitting.
