Description
This is a cream wool rug cut in the outline of a bear, with a rounded head, four outstretched paws and a little tail. It is 100% wool, with a deep, curly pile you can see in every loop, and at 200cm long and 140cm wide it is a generous size: large enough to cover the middle of a child's bedroom floor or to give a whole play area a warm base. It weighs 3.5KG, a proper floor rug rather than a thin mat.
We see it first in a nursery or a child's bedroom, where it marks out a place to sit, build and play on a cold wooden or concrete floor. Wool is naturally springy and warm underfoot, which is why it suits a floor where small people spend so much time kneeling and sprawling. It is just as much at home beyond the children's rooms: laid along a landing, in front of a pair of glazed doors, or on a living room floor beside a low seat, the bear shape gives a pale, simple room a touch of humour without adding colour.
Care is simple but particular. The rug is spot clean only, so it never goes in the washing machine: treat a spill or mark where it lands rather than soaking the whole rug. It is not for the dryer and not for the iron. Wool is a resilient fibre with a natural spring, which is what gives this deep pile its bounce. For styling, lay the cream wool against warm wooden boards or a pale grey floor and leave the head end some space so the bear outline reads clearly; a low basket of toys or a small chair beside one paw is all it needs.

Frequently Asked
What material is the bear rug?
It is 100% wool, with a deep, curly pile, cut in the outline of a bear with a head, four paws and a little tail.
How big is the rug?
It is 200cm long and 140cm wide, a generous floor rug for a child's bedroom, nursery or play area, and it weighs 3.5KG.
Can I put it in the washing machine?
No. It is spot clean only, so treat any spill or mark where it lands, and do not put it in a dryer or iron it.
Is it only for a child's room?
Not at all. It sits as happily on a landing, in a living room or in front of glazed doors as it does in a nursery.
