The Bayview is a single-light outdoor porch ceiling light with a black aluminium lantern frame and clear bevelled glass panels on all four sides. The fitting mounts flush to a porch or canopy ceiling, with the lantern hanging below the circular ceiling plate. One E27 bulb sits inside the glass housing (sold separately), casting light through the bevelled panels to illuminate a porch step, front door threshold or covered entrance area.

Designed for UK residential porches, door canopies and covered outdoor entrances, the Bayview carries an IP44 rating that protects the electrical components against splashing water and solid objects down to 1mm. This makes it suitable for sheltered outdoor positions where rain may blow in but the fitting itself sits under a roof or canopy. The lantern frame measures approximately 200mm square at the base, tapering to 180mm at the top, giving a compact footprint that works in typical porch ceiling widths of 800-1200mm without overwhelming the space.

The bevelled glass panels are cut with angled edges that catch and refract light from the bulb, creating small prismatic highlights when the lantern is lit. The black aluminium frame uses a powder-coated finish that resists corrosion in outdoor conditions better than painted steel. Georgian-style corner pilasters and a ribbed top cornice give the lantern a traditional profile that pairs with period cottage architecture, Victorian terraces and brick-built suburban homes, though the clean black-and-glass palette also works alongside contemporary rendered facades and modern porches.

What bulb does the Bayview take?

The fitting takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for porch lighting.

Can this be used in an open outdoor position?

The IP44 rating protects against splashing water and solid objects down to 1mm, making it suitable for covered porches, door canopies and sheltered outdoor entrances. It is not rated for fully exposed positions where driving rain or standing water may reach the fitting.

How is the Bayview fitted?

The circular ceiling plate mounts flush to the porch or canopy ceiling via screws into a solid fixing point. The lantern hangs below the plate with the cable run concealed inside the mounting tube. Installation requires connection to mains wiring and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
