Description

A wide drum shade in dual faux silk does the talking here, nude beige on the outside with a moonlight lining that lifts the light as it comes down. Underneath sits a frosted acrylic diffuser ringed in polished chrome, so the lamp itself stays out of sight and the glow spreads softly across the ceiling and the room below. At 50cm across, the proportions read broad and shallow, holding close to the ceiling rather than dropping into the room.

This is one we reach for in rooms where a hanging pendant would sit too low: bedrooms, landings, a hallway with a modest ceiling, or a sitting room where you want light without an obstruction overhead. A single screw-fit lamp powers it, and we would choose a warm white LED GLS to make the most of the beige and moonlight fabric. It will dim with a compatible lamp and a suitable dimmer, though the dimmer is a separate purchase.

Faux silk over the shade and acrylic below keep the fitting light in the hand, while the polished chrome trim and body hold a bright, mirror-like surface that picks up daylight.
