Description

A shallow drum of faux silk in ivory pearl sits close under the ceiling on an antique brass frame, with a white laminate lining inside to throw the light back down into the room. At 40cm across, the shade is broad enough to give a soft, even wash rather than a narrow pool, while the body keeps the whole fitting tight to the ceiling. It takes a single E27 lamp, and it will dim if you pair a suitable lamp with a suitable dimmer.

This is the shape we point people towards when a hanging shade would be in the way: hallways and landings where you pass close by, bedrooms with a lower ceiling, a small sitting room or a study over a desk. The warm tone of the metal and the creamy fabric suit rooms with wood, wool and softer paint colours, and the fitting reads as quiet furniture rather than hardware.
