Description

The Baymont pairs a grey fabric cylinder with antique brass metalwork, held close to the ceiling so it reads as a tidy drum rather than something suspended in the way. The shade is Terylene and cotton over a metal frame, lined in white laminate, and a frosted diffuser closes the underside so the lamp is hidden and the light comes through evenly. At 40cm across it carries enough width to sit comfortably in the middle of a hallway ceiling. The spread is ambient, filling the room rather than aiming at any one spot.

We reach for a semi flush like this where a pendant would hang too low: landings, hallways, bedrooms under a modest ceiling, a study or a spare room. It takes a single E27 lamp, 1 x 20W max, and we would put an LED GLS in it for a warm, quiet wash of light. Dimming is possible with a compatible lamp and a dimmer switch, though neither comes in the box.
