Description

A shallow drop and a fabric drum: the satin nickel metalwork stays close to the ceiling and carries a 40cm shade in dual faux silk, midnight black and green olive. The proportions are broad rather than deep, so the fitting spreads across the ceiling instead of hanging into the room. Light falls down through the drum, and the fabric keeps the edge off it at eye level.

It is one we suggest for rooms where a pendant would hang too low: hallways and landings, bedrooms, a small dining room, a study above a desk. It takes a single E27 lamp, and we would fit an LED GLS A60, which sits neatly within the drum. Dimming is possible with a compatible lamp and dimmer, neither of which comes with it. At this drop it stays clear of doors and wardrobe fronts, which is why it earns its place on tighter landings.

The frame is metal in a satin nickel finish, a soft grey-silver that reads quieter than chrome and sits happily against warm wall colours. Dual faux silk gives the shade its depth of colour, dark and matt from the side, greener where the light catches the fabric. To clean it, turn the power off, lift dust from the shade with a soft brush or a lint-free cloth, then wipe the metal with a barely damp cloth and dry it at once. It carries a one year warranty.
