A drum shade of nude beige faux silk sits close to the ceiling here, carried on a polished chrome frame with three E27 lampholders set inside it. The lining is a paler moonlight tone, so the light picks up a little warmth as it spreads, and a frosted acrylic diffuser closes the underside to soften the view from below. At 40cm across, the shade reads as a full circle without much drop.

We reach for this where a hallway or landing needs light across its whole width rather than from a single hanging point, and it suits bedrooms and smaller sitting rooms just as well. The lampholders are spaced so the fabric glows evenly instead of showing bright patches. Can I dim it?

Yes, provided you use dimmable lamps and a dimmer switch matched to them. No dimmer is supplied with the fitting.
