Our Basmorne is a compact LED flush ceiling light in white & gold, a neat cylinder that sits close to the ceiling and directs its light towards the floor. The outside is plain white, while the inside is lined with a crinkled gold-leaf finish, so the opening glows warmly whenever the light is lit. It stands 12cm tall and measures 10cm across. The light source is an integrated LED, built into the fitting rather than a separate bulb, drawing 3.3W and giving 340 lumens at 3000K, a warm white. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoor rooms such as a hallway, landing, bedroom or living room.

With 340 lumens from one small fitting, it is best used as accent or spot lighting rather than as the only light in a large room. A row of them along a hallway or landing makes a tidy line of light, and one fitted over a bedside table, a reading chair or a shelf picks out that spot nicely. The gold interior suits rooms with warm wood, brass or cream tones, and the white body blends quietly into a white ceiling, so the fitting itself barely registers until it is lit and the gold catches the eye.
