Description

The Baker Street is an IP65-rated outdoor LED wall light with a black aluminium box frame housing a white acrylic diffuser and a 10W 3000K integrated LED. The glass front panel sits within the black frame, creating a lantern-like silhouette that projects warm white light through the diffuser while the IP65 sealing keeps moisture and dust out of the electrical components.

Designed for external walls on porches, patios, garden paths and driveways, the Baker Street mounts directly to brick, render or timber cladding via a rear backplate. The 265mm height and 152mm width give the fitting a noticeable presence without overwhelming typical domestic entrances or garden walls. The downward-facing light provides ground illumination for steps, pathways and entry points, while the acrylic diffuser softens the LED output to reduce glare.

The aluminium construction handles coastal and exposed locations without rusting, and the black powder-coated finish resists fading under UV exposure. The IP65 rating means the fitting can withstand direct water jets from any direction, making it suitable for uncovered walls facing prevailing rain. The integrated 10W LED draws significantly less power than equivalent halogen outdoor wall lights while delivering comparable lumen output at 3000K warm white.

The Baker Street arrives pre-wired with the LED module sealed inside the housing, so there are no bulbs to replace. Installation requires connection to mains 230V AC via a standard outdoor-rated junction box or weatherproof cable entry, and mounting with two screws through the rear plate. The fitting is not dimmable and comes with a 3-year manufacturer warranty from Maytoni.

What does the IP65 rating mean for outdoor use?

IP65 means the fitting is completely dust-tight and can withstand water jets from any direction. This makes it suitable for uncovered external walls exposed to rain, including coastal and exposed locations where wind-driven rain is common.

Can the LED be replaced?

No. The 10W LED module is integrated into the housing and sealed as part of the IP65 weatherproofing. The LED is rated for approximately 25,000-30,000 hours of use, which equates to around 8-10 years of typical evening-only operation.

Is the Baker Street dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The light operates at full 10W output when switched on.

What wall surfaces can it be mounted to?

The Baker Street can be fixed to brick, rendered masonry, timber cladding or composite board using appropriate fixings for the surface type. The rear backplate has two mounting holes and requires connection to mains 230V AC via a weatherproof junction box or cable entry gland.
