Description
The Baguira is a 150cm tall leopard sculpture cast in fibreglass and covered with rectangular silver mirror tiles set against a white base. The leopard sits in an upright, alert posture with a vertical orientation that gives it a commanding presence in larger spaces. Each mirror tile reflects surrounding colours and ambient light, creating shifting surface reflections that change throughout the day as natural and artificial lighting conditions shift.
Designed for hotel lobbies, residential entrance halls, retail interiors and hospitality lounges where a statement decorative piece is needed, the Baguira works best with ceiling heights of 3m or more. The 60cm width and 78cm depth footprint means it needs at least 1m of clear floor space around it to be viewed from multiple angles. The sculpture pairs well with dark-toned walls where the silver mirror mosaic provides maximum contrast, and with mirrored or metallic interior elements that echo the reflective finish.
The fibreglass construction keeps the total weight at 32.6kg despite the 150cm height, making it transportable by two people without specialist equipment. The white fibreglass base between the mirror tiles gives the surface a defined grid pattern rather than a continuous reflective plane, and prevents the sculpture from reading as solid metal. The seated leopard posture with the head raised and front paws extended creates vertical visual interest without requiring wall-mounting or suspension.
The mirror tiles are rectangular rather than square, giving the mosaic a more architectural rhythm than traditional square-tiled mirror sculptures. From Schuller's animal sculpture range, the Baguira is part of a series that includes other wildlife forms finished in mirror mosaic, gold leaf and matte metallics, allowing coordinated installations where multiple pieces are required.

Frequently Asked
How is the mirror mosaic applied?
The rectangular silver mirror tiles are individually adhered to the white fibreglass base, creating a grid pattern across the entire surface of the leopard form. The white base remains visible between tiles, giving definition to the mosaic structure.
What ceiling height is needed?
At 150cm tall, the Baguira works best in rooms with ceiling heights of 3m or more. In spaces with standard 2.4m ceilings the sculpture can feel visually compressed and may dominate the vertical space.
Can it be placed outdoors?
No. The fibreglass and mirror tile construction is designed for indoor use only. Outdoor exposure would damage the adhesive bond between the tiles and the base, and moisture ingress would compromise the fibreglass structure.
How is the sculpture cleaned?
Wipe the mirror tiles with a soft microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. Spray the cleaner onto the cloth rather than directly onto the sculpture to prevent liquid running into the gaps between tiles. The white fibreglass base can be wiped with a damp cloth.
