Description

This is a classic GLS LED bulb in the familiar A60 shape, the rounded household form most people picture when they think of a standard bulb. It uses a B22 bayonet cap, known as BC, so it twists and locks into the common UK bayonet holder. Drawing just 7W, it puts out 810 lumens of light, which is the kind of brightness you would once have got from an old 60W incandescent. Visible LED filaments run inside the clear glass, giving the warm vintage look people on both sides of the Atlantic associate with a filament light bulb, while the colour sits at a cosy 2700K warm white.

Being a wide 320 degree beam, this bulb spreads light evenly around a room rather than throwing it in one direction, so it suits open pendants, table lamps, wall fittings and ceiling roses in living rooms, bedrooms and hallways. The 2700K warm white tone keeps spaces relaxed and inviting, which is why it works well in places you wind down rather than task-focused work areas. With clear glass and exposed filaments on show, it is a good fit for open or shade-free fittings where the bulb itself is part of the look. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp spot.

The bulb measures Ø60 by 105 mm and weighs only 30 g, matching the proportions of a traditional household bulb so it sits neatly in most shades. It runs on 220 to 240V AC mains through the B22 cap with no transformer or driver needed. Light quality is rated at CRI Ra 80 for natural-looking colour, with an efficiency of 116 lm/W and a rated lifespan of 15,000 hours. This is a non-dimmable bulb, so pair it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer. The finish is transparent glass with the filaments visible inside.

Frequently Asked

What fitting does this bulb need?

It has a B22 bayonet cap, also called BC, which is the push-and-twist bayonet fitting common in UK light fittings. Line up the two pins, push in and turn to lock. It will not fit a screw (Edison) holder.

What old bulb wattage does it replace?

The LED itself draws only 7W but produces 810 lumens, roughly the output of a traditional 60W incandescent bulb. You get the same familiar brightness while using a fraction of the power.

Is this bulb dimmable?

No, this is a non-dimmable bulb. Use it with a standard on/off switch rather than a dimmer, as fitting it to a dimmer circuit can cause flicker or buzzing and may shorten its life.

How long does it last?

It is rated for 15,000 hours of use. At a few hours a day that is many years of service, and with an efficiency of 116 lm/W it uses far less energy than the old bulb it replaces.
