Description
This B22 GLS LED bulb takes the classic rounded A60 household shape and fits a standard bayonet cap, the BC fitting found across most UK light fixtures. It draws just 7 W while putting out 810 lumens, a direct stand-in for an old 60 W incandescent bulb. The 6500K daylight tone is crisp and cool, with a wide 320 degree beam angle that spreads light right around the bulb rather than in one direction. Across the Atlantic the A60 is the A19 shape, with the bayonet cap being the main point of difference from a screw-in equivalent.
Because the light spreads almost fully around the bulb, it suits open shades, pendants and central ceiling fittings in kitchens, home offices, utility rooms and garages where a clean, bright daylight tone helps with close work and visibility. The cool 6500K colour reads as bright and alert rather than warm, so it works best in task and practical spaces rather than relaxed living areas. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor use only, so keep it clear of bathrooms, porches and any outdoor or damp location.
The bulb has an opal A60 glass body in a white finish, measuring 60 mm across and 105 mm long, and weighing only 30 g. It runs on 220 to 240 V AC mains through the B22 bayonet cap and carries a CRI of Ra 80 for sound everyday colour accuracy. Rated efficiency is 116 lm/W with a 15,000 hour lifespan. This bulb is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard switch rather than a dimmer circuit.

Frequently Asked
Which fitting does this bulb need?
It has a B22 bayonet cap, often called BC, which is the push-and-twist fitting used in most UK light fixtures. Check that your fixture takes a bayonet cap rather than a screw-in cap before ordering.
What old bulb wattage does it replace?
At 7 W it produces 810 lumens, which matches the output of a 60 W old incandescent bulb. The LED itself only draws 7 W, so you get the same brightness for a fraction of the energy.
Is this bulb dimmable?
No, this is a non-dimmable bulb. It should be used on a standard on/off switch and not wired to a dimmer, as a dimmer can cause flicker or shorten its life.
Is the daylight colour right for my room?
The 6500K daylight tone is crisp and cool, which suits kitchens, offices, garages and utility spaces where clear, bright light helps with tasks. For relaxed living rooms and bedrooms a warm white tone is usually a better choice.
