B22 (BC) LED GLS Bulb 8.8W 806lm Dimmable - Warm White 2700K

This is a B22 bayonet cap LED bulb in the classic GLS shape, the rounded pear form that has been the standard household bulb for decades. It draws 8.8W and gives 806 lumens, which the pack puts at the same light as an old 60W incandescent. What sets it apart from an ordinary GLS lamp is the colour change switch: one bulb holds three colour temperatures, 2700K, 4000K and 6500K, and you choose which one it runs at. It is dimmable as well, and the pack prints an F energy class.

B22 is the bayonet fitting with two pins on the side of the cap, the one you push and twist rather than screw in. It is still the most common cap on British pendants, standard lamps and older ceiling roses, so check the cap on the bulb you are replacing before ordering. At 806 lumens this is a main light rather than a side lamp bulb, sensible in a living room pendant, a landing, a kitchen or a bedroom. The three settings suit a room that does more than one job: 2700K warm for the evening, 4000K neutral for reading or cooking, 6500K daylight for close work.

The colour is set on the lamp itself rather than at the wall, so choose your setting as you fit it. 2700K is the warm yellow tone people expect from a traditional bulb, 4000K is a cleaner neutral white, and 6500K is a bright daylight that makes colours easy to read. Dimming is separate from that: the lamp dims at any of the three settings, and an LED load wants a dimmer rated for LED. The pack prints a 15 year lifespan and 15,000 hours. Will this fit my existing lampholder?

It takes a B22 bayonet cap, the two pin push and twist fitting used on most British pendants and standard lamps, so compare the cap on the old bulb first.

How do I switch between the three colour temperatures?

The setting is chosen on the colour change switch on the lamp itself, marked 2700K, 4000K and 6500K, so it stays where you leave it once fitted.

Can I use it on a dimmer?

Yes, the pack marks it as dimmable. As with any LED load, the dimmer needs to be one rated for LED lamps rather than an older resistive type.

How much light does 806 lumens actually give?
