Description

This is a small round recessed light with an angled face, so the beam falls to one side rather than straight out at eye level. The face measures 80mm across and sits back into the wall rather than standing proud of it, which keeps the look quiet by day. Inside is an integrated 3W LED giving a warm white light, and the driver is supplied with it.

We reach for these where a bracket light would be too much: alongside steps, down the length of a path, either side of a front door, or picking out a low garden wall. The output is modest and deliberately so, enough to mark a route and show a change of level without glare. Sealed against rain and washing down with a hose, it is rated for outdoor positions, and nothing projects into a walkway. It is not dimmable, so it works from an ordinary switch, and a run of several spaced evenly does more for a garden than one brighter fitting on its own.

The finish is a matt sand black, a fine textured black that hides water marks and looks settled against brick, render and timber. To clean, switch off at the wall, then wipe the lens with a damp cloth and dry it; grit and cobwebs gather at the recess over winter more than anything else. It carries a three year warranty. We stock the same round angled head in sand white and anthracite, and the range also runs to square angled versions and to round and square eyelid types if you prefer a hooded front. The LED is built in, so there is no lamp to buy.
