Description

A small round recessed light with an angled face, finished in anthracite so it sits quietly in a wall by day and does its work after dark. The LED is built in and gives a warm white light, and the angled front throws the beam to one side so it washes the surface below rather than shining back at you. The visible face measures 80mm across. At 3W it is a low draw, and it is not dimmable, so it runs from a simple on and off switch.

We use these where a projecting fitting would be in the way: along a passage at the side of a house, down a run of garden steps, either side of a porch, or set into a low boundary wall to mark a path. Output is 210 lumens, which is the right order for guiding people safely rather than flooding a terrace, so a short line of them reads better than a single one on its own. They suit modern brick and render, and anyone who wants the light without the fitting on show.

The body is sealed against rain and driven dust, and the driver comes with it. Anthracite is a forgiving finish outdoors, hiding the film that builds up over a wet winter, though we would wipe the lens with a damp cloth each spring so nothing dulls the output, with the power off first. It carries a three year warranty. The same round angled head is stocked in sand black and sand white, and there is a square version and a rounded eyelid form in anthracite as well, so a whole garden can be kept consistent.
