Description

The Artic is a 1.6m floor lamp built around a single faceted glass cube shade mounted on a polished chrome stem and circular base. The cube is constructed from multiple angular glass panels cut and joined to form a geometric crystalline structure that refracts light through its facets when the E27 bulb inside is lit. The chrome stem rises vertically from a weighted circular base and supports the cube at head height.

Designed for living rooms, reading corners and bedside positions where the lamp provides both task light and decorative interest, the Artic works best when the bulb inside is visible through the glass — either a clear LED filament bulb or a frosted globe. The refracted light projects onto surrounding walls and ceilings in scattered patterns that change depending on viewing angle. The 300mm cube dimension gives the lamp presence without dominating smaller rooms, and the 12.2kg weight keeps it stable on carpets and rugs.

The polished chrome finish on the frame provides a high-gloss reflective surface that pairs with contemporary, Art Deco-influenced and mid-century modern interiors. The faceted glass construction means each cube shows slight variation in how light refracts depending on the exact panel alignment during assembly. Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulb chosen — pairing with a dimmable LED and a compatible dimmer switch allows the refracted light intensity to be adjusted from full brightness down to a low ambient glow.

Frequently Asked

What bulb does the Artic take?

The lamp takes a single E27 (Edison screw) bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with either a clear LED filament bulb to show the filament structure through the glass, or a frosted globe bulb for softer diffused light. Maximum wattage depends on the bulb type chosen.

Is the Artic dimmable?

Yes, but only when paired with a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself has no integrated dimming — dimmer compatibility depends entirely on the bulb chosen and the dimmer type installed in the circuit.

How is the glass shade cleaned?

The faceted glass cube collects dust in the angles between panels. Wipe gently with a dry microfibre cloth, or use a barely-damp cloth with distilled water for fingerprints. Avoid spraying glass cleaner directly onto the shade as liquid can run down into the chrome frame — spray onto the cloth instead.

Is the lamp stable on rugs?

The 12.2kg weight and circular base provide good stability on most surfaces including short-pile rugs. On thick or shag rugs the base may sink slightly, but the weight distribution prevents tipping under normal use.
