Description

The Antem is a 30W LED floodlight with a built-in PIR motion sensor, putting out 2400 lumens of 4000K neutral white light across a wide 100 degree beam. It runs on 220-240V AC mains, so there is no separate transformer to wire in. Across US listings the same fitting is sold as an outdoor flood with motion detection, the sort of unit that switches on automatically when movement is picked up nearby. The neutral white tone keeps surfaces looking true rather than warm or blue, and the broad beam spreads the light over a yard or doorway rather than a tight spot.

Its 2400 lumens replace roughly a 120W halogen flood (an old halogen unit ran near 20 lumens per watt), with the PIR making it well suited to a porch, carport or covered side passage where you want light only when someone approaches. The 100 degree beam throws a wide wash close to the fitting, covering an entry path or driveway approach rather than reaching far down a garden. Because it carries an IP44 rating it should stay under cover and clear of direct rain or jets of water, so a sheltered eave or porch ceiling suits it best. Mounting height of around 2.2 to 2.5 metres gives the sensor a sensible detection field.

The body is aluminium alloy in a black finish, rated IP44 for splash resistance in covered positions. It can be wall, ceiling or surface mounted, giving flexibility over how the floodlight and its sensor face the area being watched. The fitting is not dimmable, which suits a security and access role where full output on detection is the point. Rated for 15,000 hours and weighing 400g, it is a light, integrated unit with the LED and sensor built in. The wider Antem range includes plain non-sensor floodlights in matching black if a constantly-on version is needed elsewhere.

Frequently Asked

How bright is it and what halogen flood does it replace?

It produces 2400 lumens at 30W in a 4000K neutral white tone. That output is close to an old 120W halogen floodlight, which ran at around 20 lumens per watt, so it covers a similar area for a fraction of the energy.

Can I use it fully exposed outdoors?

No. The IP44 rating means it is splash-resistant and built for sheltered spots such as a porch, carport or covered side passage. Keep it out of direct rain and away from water jets rather than mounting it on a fully exposed wall.

How does the PIR sensor work?

A passive infra-red sensor is built into the fitting and switches the light on when it detects movement within range, then off again after a set period. Mounting at around 2.2 to 2.5 metres gives the sensor a sensible field of view over an entry path or driveway approach.

How do I clean it?

Switch off at the mains and let the fitting cool, then wipe the lens and aluminium body with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Avoid solvents or abrasives, and keep the sensor window clear so detection stays reliable.
