The Amel is a 3 light semi-flush ceiling light built around three curved polished chrome arms that sweep outward from a circular central backplate, each arm ending in a fluted glass shade. The chrome arms form looping curves that give the fitting a sculptural quality when viewed from below, while the 220mm projection keeps the shades well away from the ceiling surface, allowing upward light scatter.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m where a flush ceiling light would sit too flat and a pendant would hang too low, the Amel suits hallways, landings, bedrooms and low-ceilinged living rooms. The 420mm diameter and three-armed spread provide coverage for a 3m x 3m space without overwhelming smaller rooms. Each arm takes an E14 bulb (sold separately), and the fixture is dimmable when paired with compatible E14 LED bulbs and a trailing-edge dimmer.

The glass shades combine frosted inner surfaces with clear outer fluting, so when lit the frosted layer diffuses the bulb filament while the outer ridges catch and refract light at the edges. The polished chrome reflects ceiling and wall colours, making the fitting adapt visually to different rooms without needing to change the fixture itself. The three arms are welded to the central backplate and fixed in position during manufacture, so there is no assembly of the arm structure required on installation.

What bulbs does the Amel take?

The fitting takes three E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle bulbs in 2700K-3000K for a warm white output. Maximum wattage per socket depends on bulb type but 40W equivalent LED is typical.

Is it suitable for low ceilings?

Yes. The 220mm projection makes the Amel well-suited to rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.7m, where a pendant would hang too low and a flush ceiling light would provide insufficient light spread. The curved arms keep the shades clear of the ceiling surface while maintaining a compact overall profile.

Can the Amel be dimmed?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable E14 LED bulbs and paired with a compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Not all E14 LEDs are dimmable, so check bulb specifications before purchasing if dimming is required.

How is the chrome finish cleaned?

Wipe the polished chrome with a soft, dry microfibre cloth. For fingerprints or smudges, a barely-damp cloth is acceptable, but avoid soaking the fitting or using sprays near the lamp holders. The glass shades can be removed for cleaning with warm water and washing-up liquid, then dried thoroughly before refitting.
