Description

The Ambersil Dry Moly Lubricant is a tough, long lasting resin bonded lubricant supplied in a 400ml aerosol (spray) can. It leaves a dry film rather than a wet or oily coating, which makes it well suited to high load applications where standard oil or grease based lubricants would fail. If you need reliable protection in demanding conditions but cannot have surfaces attracting dust and grit, this is where a dry film comes into its own.

We designed our listing around real working use, so here are the practical details. The product handles an operational temperature range of -150°C to +400°C, giving you plenty of headroom at both the cold and hot ends. It works as a running in treatment on rolling and sliding bearings, and it settles into a resin bonded coat that stays put under pressure. For the best results you can apply multiple coats, with re-coating building up performance over time.

To get the most from it, give the final coat a light polish. This improves the slip of the dry film and helps the bearing or component run more smoothly from the start. The can measures 200x65x65mm and weighs 366g, so it stores easily on a shelf or in a toolbox and is simple to keep to hand on the bench. It is a straightforward choice for maintenance work, running in new parts, and any job where a clean dry lubricant matters more than a wet one.

Frequently Asked

What is the operating temperature range?

The dry moly film works from -150°C up to +400°C, so it copes with both very cold and high heat conditions.

Why choose a dry film lubricant over an oil or grease?

A dry film does not stay wet, so it will not attract dust and grit. It suits high load applications where oil or grease based lubricants would fail but a lubricated surface is still needed.

How should I apply it for the best results?

Apply one or more coats as needed. Re-coating builds performance, and lightly polishing the final coat improves the slip of the film.

Can I use it on bearings?

Yes. It works well as a running in treatment on both rolling and sliding bearings.

What size is the can?

It is a 400ml aerosol measuring 200x65x65mm and weighing 366g.
