Description

The Alurien is an 800mm diameter alabaster coffee table cut from a single drum of natural Spanish alabaster, sitting 350mm tall on a recessed base that lifts the stone just clear of the floor. An integrated 40W LED concealed inside the body casts warm 3000K light up through the alabaster, turning the entire table into a softly glowing surface rather than a piece with a visible bulb.

Designed as a central low table for living rooms, lounges and hospitality settings, the Alurien works at sofa-height in front of a standard 3-seater or as a low feature piece in a wider seating arrangement. The 800mm diameter gives enough surface for trays, books and table lamps, while the 350mm height aligns with most contemporary sofa seat heights for comfortable reach. The recessed base hides the cable run and creates a shadow line that makes the heavy stone disc appear to float.

Each Alurien shows different mineral veining, amber inclusions and tonal variation depending on the section of alabaster it was cut from, so no two tables look identical when lit. The internal structure combines stainless steel and marble alongside the alabaster drum, giving the piece the mass needed to feel stable and substantial without rocking on uneven floors. The polished edges and smooth contours keep the form quiet, letting the natural stone do the visual work.

Is the LED dimmable?

The integrated LED is rated at 40W on 230V mains. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific dimmer model, so please contact us before pairing with a dimmer to confirm.

Does each table look the same?

No. Each Alurien is cut from natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining, amber inclusions, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural stone, not a defect, and becomes most visible when the LED is switched on.

What height does it sit at next to a sofa?

The table is 350mm tall, which aligns with most contemporary sofa seat heights of 400-450mm. This keeps the surface comfortably below the seat line for reaching drinks and books without obstructing the view across the room.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Alabaster is porous and softer than marble. Wipe gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes or chemical cleaners. Coasters are recommended under glasses to prevent ring marks.
