Alurien LED Alabaster Coffee Table Small - Soft White

The Alurien Small is a 450mm diameter round coffee table cut from a single cylindrical block of natural Spanish alabaster, standing 320mm tall on a recessed base that sits the stone slightly clear of the floor. An integrated 40W 3000K LED is concealed within the body, lighting the alabaster from inside and turning the entire table into a warm ambient light source.

Designed for compact living rooms, snug corners and layered seating arrangements, the Alurien doubles as a low-level lamp and an occasional table. The 450mm top accepts a tray of drinks, a stack of books or a single decorative object without crowding, while the recessed base hides the cable run and gives the cylinder its floating appearance. Mains-powered at 230V, it plugs into a standard UK socket.

Each block of Spanish alabaster shows different mineral veining and tonal variation, with cream and warm grey banding running through translucent white stone. When the LED is switched on, those veins illuminate from within and reveal depth that's invisible when the table is unlit. The cylindrical form has no sharp edges, and the combination of stainless steel core, marble base detailing and solid alabaster gives the piece a substantial weight in scale terms despite its modest 450mm footprint.

The Alurien works as a standalone accent in a smaller room or paired with the larger Alurien for a layered arrangement around a sofa. With the LED off, it reads as a sculptural stone form; with the LED on, it acts as low ambient lighting that supplements floor and table lamps without adding another shaded fitting to the room.

Can the LED be switched on independently of the table function?

Yes. The integrated 40W LED runs on 230V mains and is controlled separately from any other lighting in the room, so the Alurien can be used as a low ambient light source on its own or alongside the table's use as an occasional surface.

Is the alabaster top durable enough for drinks and books?

Alabaster is softer than marble and porous, so it should be treated with more care than a stone or wooden coffee table. Use coasters under glasses and avoid placing hot items, oils or coloured liquids directly on the surface, which can stain or etch the stone.

Does each table look the same?

No. Each Alurien is cut from a different block of natural Spanish alabaster, so the veining pattern, tonal variation and translucency differ between individual pieces. This is a feature of the natural material.

How is the alabaster cleaned?

Wipe with a dry, soft microfibre cloth. For more stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the stone and do not use household sprays, polishes, vinegar or chemical cleaners, all of which can damage alabaster's surface.
