Description

The Alexandra is a 1750mm crystal floor lamp built around a polished chrome central column supporting two tiers of Asfour crystal beads in a cascading basket silhouette. Six E14 bulb holders sit behind the upper tier, casting light through the crystal droplets and creating multiple reflections across the polished chrome frame and the surrounding room. Bulbs are sold separately, with dimmable LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K typically paired with this fitting.

Designed for living rooms, formal dining spaces and entrance halls with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above, the Alexandra provides both ambient light and decorative mass. The 450mm diameter occupies a similar footprint to a small armchair, while the 19.5kg weight gives stability on carpets and hard floors without requiring fixing to the wall. The polished chrome base plate measures approximately 300mm diameter and distributes the load evenly.

Each tier of crystal beads is hand-strung onto the chrome frame, with rectangular and octagonal Asfour crystals cut to refract light at multiple angles. The upper tier forms a dome above the bulb holders, while the lower tier extends the basket shape downward and outward. When lit, the crystals act as hundreds of small prisms, scattering warm or cool light depending on the bulb colour temperature chosen. The Alexandra takes six E14 small Edison screw bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with dimmable LED candle bulbs between 4-6W and 2700K-3000K for warm ambient light. Maximum wattage per bulb is 20W.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, when fitted with dimmable bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The dimmer must be rated for the total wattage of all six bulbs and the bulb type (LED dimmers for LED bulbs, halogen dimmers for halogen). Check bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchasing.

How is the crystal cleaned?

Switch off and allow bulbs to cool completely. Wipe each crystal droplet with a dry microfibre cloth, working from the top tier downward. For stubborn marks, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable, but avoid soaking the metal frame or bulb holders. Do not use household sprays or polishes on Asfour crystal.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 1750mm height suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or above. In lower-ceiling rooms the lamp will dominate vertically and may feel cramped. The lamp does not require ceiling mounting — it is freestanding on its chrome base plate.
