Description

The Alana is a compact outdoor wall light with two GU10 lamp holders directing light both upward and downward from a cylindrical polycarbonate body in matt black. The IP65 rating seals the internal components against dust ingress and low-pressure water jets, making the fitting suitable for exposed exterior walls, coastal locations and areas subject to driven rain.

Designed for residential and commercial exterior lighting, the Alana mounts directly onto external walls to provide accent lighting on facades, mark doorways and entrances, or illuminate pathways at regular intervals. The dual-beam arrangement casts light onto the wall surface above and below the fitting, creating a vertical strip of illumination rather than projecting light forward into the space. The 92mm projection keeps the fitting close to the wall plane.

The polycarbonate construction resists corrosion from salt spray and moisture, a key advantage over metal fittings in coastal or humid environments. The matt black powder-coated finish over the polycarbonate shell minimises visible weathering over time. Each lamp holder accepts a standard GU10 bulb up to 5W (sold separately), with dimming capability dependent on the specific bulb chosen. The clear diffuser on the top and bottom apertures allows full light output without tinting the beam colour.

What bulbs does it take?

The Alana takes two GU10 bulbs, one for the upward beam and one for the downward beam. Maximum 5W per bulb. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with warm-white LED GU10 bulbs between 3-5W and 2700K-3000K for exterior accent lighting.

Can it be used in coastal areas?

Yes. The polycarbonate construction resists corrosion from salt spray and moisture, making the Alana suitable for coastal installations where metal fittings would degrade more quickly. The IP65 rating protects internal components from water ingress.

Is it dimmable?

Dimming depends on the GU10 bulbs you install. If you fit dimmable GU10 LED bulbs and connect the circuit to a compatible LED dimmer, the fitting will dim. Non-dimmable bulbs will not respond to a dimmer switch.

How is it wired?

The Alana is Class II double-insulated, so it does not require an earth connection. It wires to mains 230V 50Hz live and neutral only. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician in accordance with current UK Building Regulations Part P.
