Description
The Adastra BP4V-W is a 4" background speaker built for outdoor and humid settings. It runs on 100V line systems, with a rotary selector switch on the rear that lets you set the power tapping or switch to 8 Ohm operation. That flexibility makes it straightforward to balance volume across a run of speakers or wire it into a low impedance setup. Each unit is supplied singly, so you can order exactly the number you need for the job.
Weather protection comes from an IP54 rating that covers dust and water splashes from any direction. The main driver uses a water resistant polypropylene cone, and the tweeter has a polymer diaphragm, both chosen to keep working reliably where moisture is a factor. The cabinet is moulded PP with a powder coated aluminium grille, so it holds up outdoors without corroding. A 1m hard-wired lead runs from the speaker, keeping the IP protection intact all the way to a junction box or an indoor area where you make the connection.
Mounting is handled by the supplied wall bracket, and there are alternative M6 threaded points if you prefer a different fixing method. The BP4V-W is the weatherproof version of the well regarded BC series, so it carries over the same approach to clear, even sound reproduction across a wider set of locations. It suits patios, covered walkways, garden bars and other places where indoor speakers would struggle. The operating temperature range runs from -5°C to +40°C, covering most year round conditions in the UK.

Frequently Asked
Can the BP4V-W run on 8 Ohm systems?
Yes. The rear rotary selector switch lets you choose a 100V line tapping or set it to 8 Ohms for low impedance operation.
How weatherproof is it?
It carries an IP54 rating, which protects against dust and water splashes from any direction, making it suitable for outdoor and humid environments.
How does it connect to an amplifier?
Each speaker has a 1m hard-wired lead attached. This keeps the IP protection intact right up to a junction box or indoor area where you make the final connection.
How do I mount it?
A wall mounting bracket is supplied. There are also alternative M6 threaded mounting points if you want to use a different fixing.
Is it sold in pairs?
No, the BP4V-W is supplied singly, so you can order the exact quantity your installation needs.
What temperatures can it handle?
It is rated for an operating range of -5°C to +40°C, covering typical UK outdoor conditions through the year.
