Description
The Acete is a 30W LED floodlight with a built-in PIR motion sensor, switching on automatically when movement is detected and off again after the sensor times out. It runs on 220-240V AC mains and gives a wide 90 degree spread of light, with colour selectable white across 3000K, 4000K and 6500K so the same fitting can throw a warm glow or a crisp daylight tone. Output sits between 2400 and 3240 lumens depending on the temperature chosen. Across the Atlantic this style of sensor-driven outdoor floodlight is the familiar security light, doing the same job of lighting an area the moment someone approaches.
Rated at IP44, the Acete is built for splash and sheltered positions rather than fully exposed ones, so it is well suited to a porch, a carport, a covered side passage or a doorway under an overhang. The PIR makes it a practical choice for approach paths and entrances where hands-free light is useful. As a guide on brightness, an old halogen floodlight runs at roughly 20 lumens per watt, so the Acete's output is broadly in the region of a 120-160W halogen unit while drawing only 30W. The 90 degree beam covers a generous fan in front of the fitting, enough to wash a doorway, a short driveway approach or a small yard area when mounted at typical wall or eaves height.
The body is aluminium alloy in a grey finish, keeping the fitting light at just 390g while shedding heat from the LED. It mounts to a wall or ceiling and is rated for 25,000 hours of use. The fitting is not dimmable, with brightness set by the chosen colour temperature, and the integrated LED needs no external driver. Wipe the lens and sensor face clear occasionally to keep both the light output and the motion detection working as intended. The Acete sits within our wider range of outdoor and sensor floodlights.

Frequently Asked
How bright is the Acete and what halogen wattage does it replace?
It delivers between 2400 and 3240 lumens depending on the colour temperature selected. Since an old halogen floodlight runs at around 20 lumens per watt, this 30W LED gives roughly the output of a 120 to 160W halogen unit while using a fraction of the power.
Can the Acete be used outdoors?
Yes, but only in sheltered positions. Its IP44 rating handles splashes and rain blown under cover, so it suits a porch, carport or covered entrance. Keep it clear of fully exposed locations, direct water jets or anywhere it could be submerged.
How does the PIR motion sensor work?
The built-in sensor detects movement in front of the fitting and switches the light on automatically, then turns it off after a set delay once movement stops. This makes it a hands-free choice for approach paths, doorways and entrances where you want light only when someone is near.
How do I clean the fitting?
Wipe the lens with a soft, damp cloth when the fitting is off and cool, avoiding abrasive cleaners on the aluminium body. Keep the sensor face clear of dust and cobwebs as well, since a dirty lens can reduce both light output and reliable motion detection.
