Description

Satin black from end to end, this is a slim horizontal picture light that runs 35cm across and keeps its projection modest, so it sits close and quiet above a picture, a mirror or a run of shelving. Two G9 capsules do the work, both supplied, and they give a warm 2700K light that suits paper, canvas and painted plaster alike. A toggle switch on the fitting means it can be worked where you stand, and it dims once a compatible dimmer is in the circuit.

We reach for this where the light needs to serve a single object rather than a whole room: a framed print in a hall, an oil over a fireplace, or above a bookcase in a study. It also works in a bedroom or a study, where the switch on the body turns it into a reading light as readily as a display light. The warm white output keeps evening rooms settled, and dimming lets you drop it back to a glow once the rest of the room is lit. Warm white also sits kindly on wood and on warm-toned pictures.

The satin black finish is matt and even, holding the light rather than throwing it back, which keeps the fitting quiet beside whatever it lights. The capsules are replaceable, so the body long outlasts them. Dust it with a dry cloth when you pass, and leave the capsules to go cold before swapping them. It carries a one year warranty.
