Description

Four G9 capsules run the length of a slim 60cm bar, giving an even wash of light rather than the single hot spot a spotlight leaves. The finish is satin nickel, a soft grey sheen that sits quietly against pale walls and gilt frames alike. Light output is warm white at 3000K, and the fitting dims with a compatible dimmer for evenings when full brightness is more than you need. A toggle switch on the body lets you work it where you stand, without crossing the room.

We hang this one over paintings, prints and framed maps, where a bar of light covers the full width of the frame and keeps the edges as bright as the middle. It works just as well above a sideboard, along a hallway that sees no daylight, or over a headboard where a spotlight would be too tight. Because it is switched at the fitting itself, it is easy to use in a room where the nearest switch sits by the door. Do keep it to dry interiors; steam and weather ask for something sealed.

The satin nickel holds its sheen and shows fingermarks far less than polished metal, so it stays looking clean in a busy room. To clean it, turn it off at the toggle, give the capsules a few minutes to cool, then run a dry cloth along the bar; sprays and creams only dull the finish. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same bar in satin black and antique brass, in warmer and cooler light, and in a shorter length for smaller frames. Lamps come with it, though a dimmer switch does not.
