Description

A long, low light for the wall, 60cm across and shallow in projection, with four G9 capsules spaced along its length so the light spreads evenly rather than landing in pools. Output is warm white at 2700K, and it dims down with a compatible dimmer when you want the room quieter. A toggle switch on the fitting itself lets you work it by hand.

We reach for it over paintings, prints and framed maps, and above a run of low shelving or a dressing mirror, where a downward spot would only pick out the middle and leave the edges dim. In a hallway it gives a level glow that does not catch the eye at head height. Because the switch sits on the body, it suits rooms where the light is not fed from its own wall switch: a study, a landing, the alcove beside a chimney breast. Anyone framing a wide print, or hanging prints side by side, will get more from a light this long than from a compact spot.

The satin nickel finish is quiet and slightly grey, so the metal does not flare back at you when the lamps are lit. To keep it looking right, wipe along the arm with a soft cloth, barely damp if there are marks, and dry it straight after; polishes and abrasive creams will dull the surface. Keep it to dry rooms rather than shower rooms or anywhere it will meet steam. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same body in antique brass and satin black, in cooler white tones for work spaces, and in a shorter length for narrower frames. G9 lamps are supplied with it; a suitable dimmer is not.

Yes. Four G9 capsule lamps are included, rated 16W in total and giving warm white light at 2700K.

Will it work on a dimmer?

It does dim, but only with a dimmer suited to LED loads, and no dimmer is included. Set the switch on the fitting to on and control the level from the dimmer.

How far does it stand off the wall?

The projection is 220mm, with a height of 125mm and a width of 600mm, so it sits close in above a frame without leaning over the room.

What is the maximum lamp rating if I replace a capsule?

Each G9 socket takes up to 33W. We would stay with LED capsules of the same colour temperature so all four match.

Can I use it in a bathroom?

No. It is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms, so keep it away from steam and splashing.

Is there a cooler light version?

Yes. The same 60cm body is offered in 3000K, 4000K and 6000K, as well as this 2700K warm white.
