Description

The Knightsbridge 9W B22 LED smart bulb combines RGB colour control with adjustable white light from 2700K warm white to 6500K cool daylight, controlled via the SmartKnight Wi-Fi app. The B22 bayonet cap fits standard UK ceiling and lamp fittings, and the GLS (general lighting service) A60 shape matches the traditional light bulb profile at 60mm diameter by 118mm height.

Designed for table lamps, ceiling pendants and any B22 fitting where remote control and colour flexibility are wanted, the bulb connects to home Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only) and integrates with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant for voice commands. The app allows dimming from 1-100%, scheduling on/off times, grouping multiple bulbs into zones, and switching between RGB colours and the full CCT white spectrum without needing a separate dimmer switch or control panel.

The frosted polycarbonate diffuser gives even light distribution across the 900 lumen output, with a colour rendering index above 85 for accurate colour appearance in both white and RGB modes. The bulb can be overridden by the physical light switch without losing its Wi-Fi connection or programmed settings, and multiple family members can control the same bulb simultaneously through the shared app access. Maximum 100 bulbs can be grouped together across zones and scenes.

The 9W LED consumes significantly less energy than a 60W incandescent equivalent while producing the same 900 lumens. The bulb carries a 2-year warranty and an IP20 rating for indoor dry location use only.

Does this bulb require a hub or bridge?

No. The bulb connects directly to home Wi-Fi (2.4GHz only) via the SmartKnight app. If you have a dual-band router, you may need to temporarily disable the 5GHz band during initial setup, then re-enable it once the bulb is paired.

Can I still use the physical light switch?

Yes. The bulb can be turned on and off at the wall switch without losing Wi-Fi connectivity or programmed settings. When switched back on, it returns to the last setting used in the app.

Is dimming smooth or stepped?

Dimming is controlled through the SmartKnight app from 1-100% and is smooth rather than stepped. There is no physical dimmer switch compatibility — all control happens via the app or voice commands through Alexa or Google Assistant.

What's the actual brightness compared to an old incandescent bulb?

This 9W LED outputs 900 lumens, roughly equivalent to a traditional 60W incandescent bulb. The frosted diffuser spreads the light evenly, making it suitable for general room lighting in table lamps, pendants and ceiling fittings.
