Description
The Knightsbridge 12DC75 is a 75W constant voltage LED driver that converts 230V mains power to a stable 12V DC output for low-voltage LED lighting installations. The driver delivers up to 6.3A maximum current through captured screw terminals on the mains and output sides, eliminating loose terminal screws during installation.
Designed for residential and commercial LED strip lighting, under-cabinet installations, display lighting and low-voltage downlight arrays, the driver fits into ceiling voids, under kitchen plinths and behind joinery where mains wiring is available but the lighting itself runs on 12V DC. The 184mm × 61mm × 32mm polycarbonate housing allows the unit to be mounted in tight spaces using the fixing lugs at each end.
The driver includes open-circuit, short-circuit, overheat and overload protection, shutting down automatically if the load exceeds rated capacity or if wiring faults occur. Class II double-insulated construction means no earth connection is required on the mains input. The IP20 rating restricts use to dry interior locations only — the driver is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor installations or anywhere moisture is present.
The 12DC75 is non-dimmable. Attempting to dim the driver using a mains-side dimmer will damage the unit and void the warranty. For dimmable 12V installations, Knightsbridge produces separate dimmable driver models available through Niori.

Frequently Asked
Can this driver be dimmed?
No. The 12DC75 is a non-dimmable constant voltage driver. Connecting it to a mains-side dimmer will damage the unit and void the warranty. For dimmable 12V installations, use a dedicated dimmable driver model.
What's the maximum load it can power?
The driver outputs 12V DC at up to 6.3A, giving a maximum total load of 75W. This is sufficient for approximately 5m of high-density 12V LED strip at 15W per metre, or 12-15 low-voltage downlights at 5W each.
Where can it be installed?
The IP20 rating restricts installation to dry interior locations only. Suitable for ceiling voids, under kitchen plinths, behind joinery and inside cupboards. Not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use or anywhere moisture is present.
Does it need an earth connection?
No. The driver is Class II double-insulated, so no earth connection is required on the mains input. Only live and neutral connections are needed.
