Description
The Knightsbridge BATSCDAST6 is a 1790mm (6ft) LED batten delivering 48W across a CCT-adjustable light source that switches between 3000K warm white, 4000K neutral white and 5700K daylight white. The fitting integrates DALI control gear for connection into room or building-wide lighting control systems, and includes a self-test emergency function with maintained, non-maintained and switched emergency modes. The opal polycarbonate diffuser distributes light across a 135-degree beam angle, providing even coverage across offices, corridors, workshops and commercial spaces.
Designed as a direct replacement for conventional fluorescent battens, the fitting uses rear and end conduit fixing points to mount onto the same ceiling positions as older 6ft fluorescent tubes. The hinged gear tray opens for access to the LED driver, emergency module and push-fit loop-in-loop-out terminals, allowing multiple battens to be wired in sequence without additional junction boxes. The self-test emergency function runs automatic duration and function tests on the battery backup, removing the need for manual testing schedules.
The pressed steel body and polycarbonate diffuser are finished in white. At 4000K the fitting delivers 7040lm, giving 146.67lm per watt efficacy. The CCT switch on the driver allows the colour temperature to be selected on installation depending on room function: 3000K for hospitality and residential-feel spaces, 4000K for general commercial and retail, 5700K for industrial or task-focused environments. The L70B50 rating of 60,000 hours translates to approximately 13 years of continuous operation before the light output degrades to 70% of its initial level.

Frequently Asked
How is the CCT colour temperature selected?
A switch on the LED driver inside the gear tray allows the colour temperature to be set to 3000K, 4000K or 5700K before installation. The colour temperature cannot be changed remotely once the fitting is installed and closed.
What does the self-test emergency function do?
The self-test function automatically runs scheduled battery duration and function tests on the emergency backup system, typically monthly and annually. This removes the need for manual testing and records test results internally for inspection during maintenance visits.
Can the batten be dimmed via DALI?
Yes. The DALI control gear allows the batten to be dimmed and controlled via a DALI lighting control system. The fitting is not compatible with mains dimmers or standard push-to-dim switches when connected to a DALI network.
What emergency modes are supported?
The fitting supports maintained (light stays on during mains failure), non-maintained (light comes on only during mains failure), and switched emergency modes. The mode is configured during installation based on the application and local fire safety regulations.
