50cm LED Circular Bathroom Mirror - Motion Sensor IP44

The Knightsbridge ML500 is a 500mm diameter circular bathroom mirror with 24 integrated LED lights arranged around the perimeter of the glass. The LEDs operate at 4000K cool white and deliver 1,320 lumens total output, casting an even ring of light around the face of the mirror. A motion sensor fitted to the base switches the LEDs on when movement is detected within range, and switches them off after a preset delay.

The IP44 rating makes the mirror suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 (outside the immediate shower/bath zone but within a bathroom environment where splashing or condensation may occur). The mirror mounts flush to the wall with a 50mm projection from the rear-mounted pressed steel base, which also houses the LED driver and motion sensor electronics. Wall fixings are included in the box.

The pressed steel base provides rigidity behind the glass, preventing flex when the mirror is wall-mounted, and the glass itself is standard float mirror glass with a silver backing. The 24 LEDs are surface-mounted diodes (SMD) positioned behind a diffused ring so individual LED points are not visible when lit. The 14W total consumption and 30,000-hour L70B50 life rating mean the LEDs will maintain at least 70% of their initial brightness after 30,000 hours of use.

The motion sensor cannot be overridden to keep the lights permanently on, and the LEDs are non-dimmable. The mirror operates on 230V 50Hz mains via a constant-current driver built into the steel base, so no separate transformer is required during installation.

Can the motion sensor be disabled to keep the lights permanently on?

No. The ML500 is controlled solely by the motion sensor, which activates when movement is detected and switches off after a preset delay. There is no manual override or wall switch control.

Which bathroom zones is the IP44 rating suitable for?

IP44 is suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 — areas outside the immediate shower or bath enclosure where splashing or condensation may occur. It is not rated for zone 0 (inside a bath or shower) or zone 1 (directly above a bath or shower to a height of 2.25m).

Is the colour temperature adjustable?

No. The LEDs are fixed at 4000K cool white. This colour temperature produces a neutral, daylight-like tone that is commonly used for bathroom task lighting and makeup application.

How is the mirror cleaned?

Wipe the glass with a soft microfibre cloth and standard glass cleaner. Avoid spraying cleaner directly onto the LED ring or the rear steel base — spray onto the cloth first, then wipe the glass surface.
