Description

The Knightsbridge 45A DP switch is a single-gang double-pole isolator rated at 45A, designed for cooker circuits, electric showers and other high-load appliances requiring isolation. The white thermoset resin plate carries a 9mm square edge profile and includes screw cap covers to hide fixings once installed. The rocker indicator shows red when the switch is in the ON position.

Fitted in kitchens adjacent to cookers, utility rooms next to showers, and any location where a 45A-rated appliance needs a visible isolator switch, the double-pole switching isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing safer isolation than single-pole switching for high-draw circuits. The 86mm square faceplate fits standard UK 1-gang back boxes with a minimum 47mm depth.

The white finish on the thermoset resin plate integrates cleanly with white or neutral-toned walls and matches Knightsbridge's broader white range of switches and sockets. The plate carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, reducing bacterial growth on the surface in high-touch environments. Certified to EN 60669-1 and backed by a 25-year warranty.

What back box depth is needed?

A minimum 47mm back box depth is required for safe installation. The 9mm plate projection adds to the overall wall projection once fitted.

Does the switch include screw covers?

Yes. The switch includes screw cap covers that clip over the fixing screws once the plate is installed, hiding the fixings for a cleaner finish.
