Description

The Knightsbridge SN8333 combines a 45A double-pole cooker switch with a 13A switched socket on a single 146mm wide white square edge plate. Both switches use red rockers marked 'ON' for immediate visual confirmation of live circuits. The double-pole cooker switch isolates both live and neutral lines when turned off, providing a safe isolation point for electric cookers, ovens and hobs rated up to 10.35kW on 230V mains.

Designed for kitchen installation where a cooker control unit is required within 2 metres of the appliance, the unit places the high-draw cooker circuit and a standard 13A socket on the same faceplate. The 13A socket handles typical kitchen appliances (kettles, toasters, blenders) without needing a separate single socket nearby. The plate fits a standard 47mm minimum back box depth and uses visible screw fixings with included screw cap covers to reduce the visual impact of the fixing points.

The white thermoset resin construction carries anti-microbial properties tested to ISO 22196:2011, reducing bacterial growth on the switch surface in environments where hands frequently touch the plate. The 9mm square edge profile sits flush to the wall with clean right-angled edges rather than rounded contours. Laser printing of the 'COOKER' label provides cleaner text definition and longer resistance to wear than pad-printed alternatives. The unit carries BS 4177 and BS 1363-2 certification and a 25-year manufacturer warranty.

Frequently Asked

What appliances can the 45A switch control?

The 45A double-pole switch is rated for electric cookers, ovens and hobs up to 10.35kW on 230V mains. It must be installed within 2 metres of the appliance it controls, as required by UK Building Regulations.

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum back box depth is needed for safe installation. The plate adds 9mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

What does the anti-microbial property do?

The thermoset resin is treated to reduce bacterial growth on the surface. The treatment has been tested to ISO 22196:2011 standards, making the unit suitable for kitchens and healthcare environments where hygiene matters.

Can the screw fixings be hidden?

The unit uses visible screw fixings but includes screw cap covers that clip over the screw heads to reduce their visual impact. For fully screwless alternatives, see Knightsbridge's screwless range at Niori.
