Description

This 3m HDMI cable connects HDMI-A devices with support for HDMI 2.0 specification, delivering 4K resolution at 60Hz, HDR video, and Audio Return Channel (ARC) over an 18Gbps bandwidth connection. The cable uses gold-plated connectors at both ends to reduce contact resistance and over-moulded strain relief at each plug to protect the cable from flex damage at the termination points.

Designed for connecting TVs, projectors, gaming consoles, Blu-ray players, set-top boxes and AV receivers where 4K content at full 60Hz frame rate is required, the cable also supports 1080p, 3D video formats and HDCP 2.2 content protection for streaming services that require it. The ARC support allows audio to be sent back from a TV to a soundbar or AV receiver over the same cable, removing the need for a separate optical audio cable in many setups.

The outer sheath is woven from nylon braid in black with grey accent threading, giving the cable abrasion resistance and flexibility superior to basic PVC-jacketed cables. The 3m length suits living room installations where the display and source equipment are separated by furniture or wall mounting, with enough slack to route the cable behind units or along skirting boards without visible tension on the connectors.

Yes. The HDMI 2.0 specification and 18Gbps bandwidth support 4K resolution at 60Hz refresh rate, which is required for smooth motion in gaming and high-frame-rate video content.

What is ARC and do I need it?

Audio Return Channel allows a TV to send audio back to a soundbar or AV receiver over the HDMI cable, so you can hear sound from the TV's built-in apps or tuner through external speakers without running a separate optical or analogue audio cable. If your TV and audio equipment both support ARC, this cable enables it.

Will this work with older HDMI 1.4 devices?

Yes. HDMI 2.0 cables are backwards-compatible with HDMI 1.4, 1.3 and earlier devices. The connection will work at the highest specification supported by both devices.

Is the nylon braid purely cosmetic?

No. The nylon outer braid provides abrasion resistance if the cable is routed along carpet edges, behind furniture or through cable management channels, and gives better flex life than plain PVC jackets in installations where the cable is moved or adjusted occasionally.
