Description
The Knightsbridge G9LED11 is a 2W G9 LED capsule bulb delivering 230 lumens of 4000K cool white light through a frosted polycarbonate diffuser. The G9 twin-pin base fits directly into most G9 lamp holders designed for halogen capsules, making this a straight replacement for 18-25W halogen G9 bulbs in wall lights, ceiling fittings and integrated kitchen appliances.
Designed for use in wall sconces, bathroom mirror lights, integrated cooker hoods, and modern pendant fittings where a compact bulb is needed, the capsule measures 49mm in height and 16mm in diameter. The 270° beam angle provides wide light distribution rather than a focused spot, making it suitable for general illumination rather than task lighting. At 230V mains power, the 2W draw reduces energy consumption by approximately 90% compared to equivalent halogen capsules.
The frosted polycarbonate body diffuses the LED chips inside, eliminating visible hot spots and creating a more even light output than clear capsules. The 4000K colour temperature produces a neutral white that works in kitchens, bathrooms and utility spaces where a cooler tone is preferred over warm white. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor locations only. This bulb is non-dimmable and should not be used with dimmer switches.

Frequently Asked
What halogen wattage does this replace?
This 2W LED capsule replaces 18-25W halogen G9 bulbs. The 230-lumen output is comparable to a 20W halogen, but the beam angle and light distribution may differ slightly depending on the fitting.
Can it be used with a dimmer switch?
No. This bulb is non-dimmable and must not be used with dimmer switches. Using it on a dimmed circuit will cause flickering or failure.
Is it suitable for bathroom use?
The IP20 rating limits this bulb to dry indoor locations outside bathroom zones 1 and 2. It can be used in zone 3 (areas more than 60cm from a bath or shower) or in bathroom ceiling fittings well away from direct water contact.
How long does it last?
The L70B50 rating of 25,000 hours means that after 25,000 hours of use, 50% of bulbs will still deliver at least 70% of their original light output. At 3 hours per day, this equates to approximately 22 years of use.
