Description

Decoded from the article code SHADE-U H FR 2M, this is a 2m U-shape channel with a transparent frosted diffuser, designed to house an LED strip along a clean continuous line. The plastic channel forms the U-profile base that the strip is seated into, while the diffuser cover clips over the top to spread the light evenly and soften the individual diodes behind it. The part itself does not light up; it carries and protects the strip.

Mounting is surface-fixed, so it sits onto worktops, shelving, joinery or skirting where a tidy housed run is wanted rather than a bare strip. The 2m length can be cut down to suit shorter sections, and several lengths joined for longer runs. We also stock matching end caps, alternative diffuser covers and the LED strip that fits inside this channel.

What LED strip width does this channel take?

It accepts standard flexible LED strip up to the internal width of the U-profile base. Check your strip width against the channel opening before fitting, and use a strip rated for the channel to allow heat to dissipate.

Is this profile surface-mounted or recessed?

This is a surface-mounted channel, fixed directly onto the mounting surface such as a worktop edge, shelf or joinery. It is not designed to be recessed into a groove.

Can the 2m length be cut to size?

Yes. The aluminium-style channel and its diffuser can be cut down with a fine-tooth saw to fit shorter runs, and multiple lengths joined end to end for longer installations.

Does the diffuser come included?

Yes, the transparent frosted diffuser cover is included and clips over the channel to soften the strip behind it. We also stock spare and alternative diffusers and matching end caps separately.
