Description

The Knightsbridge LFC24RGB3M is a 3-metre RGB LED strip light running on 24V DC, with 36 x 5050 SMD LEDs per metre delivering colour-changing capability across the full spectrum. The strip measures 10mm wide by 1.8mm deep and arrives on a 3-metre continuous reel with 3M self-adhesive tape pre-applied to the rear, ready to mount onto clean, dry surfaces.

Designed for internal cove lighting, under-cabinet illumination, display shelving, TV backlighting and feature wall washes, the RGB strip allows dynamic colour changes controlled via a separate remote and RGB controller (both sold separately). The strip draws 9W per metre, totalling 27W for the full 3m length when operating at full brightness across all three colour channels simultaneously. A 24V constant-voltage driver is required (sold separately) — the strip cannot run directly from mains voltage.

The strip can be cut at marked intervals of 166mm to fit precise lengths, making installation adaptable to alcoves, shelving units and joinery where exact measurements matter. The IP20 rating confines use to dry indoor locations — the strip has no silicone coating or waterproof backing, so it is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor installations or anywhere subject to moisture. Maximum continuous run length is 10 metres when using appropriate drivers and wiring, so multiple 3m sections can be joined on a single circuit if voltage drop is managed correctly.

The 5050 SMD LED chips provide higher output than smaller 3528 alternatives, giving punchy colour saturation that reads clearly even in daylit rooms when set to full intensity. The strip ships as a single 3-metre continuous length — Knightsbridge also stocks this strip in 1m, 5m and 30m variants for different project scales, along with a full range of compatible 24V drivers, RGB controllers, connectors and aluminium mounting profiles sold separately.

What additional components are needed to make this strip work?

You need three items sold separately: a 24V constant-voltage driver to power the strip, an RGB controller to manage the colour-changing function, and a remote control to send commands to the controller. The strip cannot run directly from mains voltage and has no built-in controller.

Can the strip be cut to fit shorter lengths?

Yes. The strip has designated cut points every 166mm marked with scissor symbols. Cutting at these points maintains circuit integrity. Cutting between marked points will damage the section and prevent those LEDs from lighting.

Is this strip waterproof or suitable for bathrooms?

No. The IP20 rating means the strip has no protection against moisture and is suitable only for dry indoor locations. For bathroom or outdoor use, you need an IP65 or IP67 rated strip with silicone coating.

How many metres can run on a single driver?

The maximum continuous run is 10 metres. Beyond that length, voltage drop causes colour shift and reduced brightness at the far end. For runs longer than 10m, inject additional power at the midpoint or use multiple driver zones.
