Description
The Knightsbridge 4IPW is a 36mm diameter recessed ground light with an integrated 0.5W cool white LED housed in a 304 stainless steel body rated IP67 for outdoor walk-over installation. The fitting operates on 24V DC constant voltage, requiring a separate 24V LED driver (sold separately), and ships with 3m of pre-wired H05RN-F cable for connection in parallel to other fittings on the same circuit.
Designed for path lighting, driveway borders, patio edges and step marking in residential and commercial outdoor installations, the ground light sits flush with the surface once installed and can withstand pedestrian traffic. The 28mm cut-out diameter requires a standard core drill bit, and the 59mm recessed depth fits in paving depths of 60mm or greater with a sand or mortar bed beneath. The 90-degree beam angle gives wide-spread light at ground level rather than a focused spot.
The 304 stainless steel body resists corrosion in wet, coastal and freeze-thaw conditions, and the matt diffuser over the LED prevents glare when viewed at ground level. At 5 lumens output and 5000K colour temperature, the fitting provides marker light rather than illumination — it defines edges and pathways without overwhelming adjacent planting or creating light pollution. Multiple fittings are typically spaced 1-2m apart along a path run and wired back to a single 24V driver indoors or in a weatherproof enclosure.
The Class III rating means the fitting operates at extra-low voltage with no risk of electric shock, making it safer than mains-voltage ground lights in areas accessible to the public or where accidental cable damage might occur during garden work. Dimming capability depends on the driver used — pairing with a dimmable 24V constant-voltage driver allows brightness adjustment via a compatible dimmer switch.

Frequently Asked
What driver is needed to power this ground light?
The fitting requires a 24V DC constant-voltage LED driver (sold separately). The driver must supply enough wattage for all fittings on the circuit — for example, ten of these 0.5W fittings need a minimum 5W driver, though a 10-15W driver is recommended to avoid running the driver at maximum capacity.
How is the fitting installed in paving?
A 28mm core drill bit cuts the aperture in the paving slab or block. The fitting body sits in the hole with the flange flush to the surface, and the 59mm recessed depth requires at least 60mm total paving thickness plus a sand or mortar bed beneath to accommodate the body and cable entry.
Is it safe to walk on?
Yes. The IP67 rating and stainless steel construction are designed for walk-over installation in pedestrian areas. The fitting is not rated for vehicular traffic — for driveways or parking areas where cars may drive over the light, a higher load-rated ground light is needed.
How many fittings can be wired to one driver?
This depends on the driver wattage. Each fitting draws 0.5W, so a 20W driver can power up to forty fittings in parallel. The 3m cable on each fitting allows them to be daisy-chained along a path run back to a central driver location.
