Description

The Knightsbridge LEDFS12DL is a 5-metre 24V LED strip light with an S-shaped flex design that allows the strip to bend around tight corners and curved surfaces without kinking or breaking. The strip carries 60 SMD 2835 LEDs per metre, delivering 610 lumens per metre at 6500K daylight white. Each metre draws 5W on a constant 12V DC supply (note the specification lists 12V DC, not 24V despite the product name).

Designed for internal installations including under-cabinet lighting, display shelving, cove lighting, retail signage and architectural detailing, the strip measures 8mm wide and sits 2mm proud of the mounting surface once installed. The S-shaped flex gives the strip greater lateral flexibility than standard rigid PCB LED strips, making it easier to navigate corners, angles and recessed channels without needing corner connectors. The strip can be cut every 50mm at marked intervals to fit exact lengths.

The IP20 rating limits the strip to dry internal locations away from direct moisture. The strip comes with a pre-applied 3M self-adhesive backing on the reverse, allowing it to stick directly to clean, dry, non-porous surfaces such as aluminium extrusion, painted wood or melamine. Dimming is supported when paired with a suitable dimming driver and control system. A constant voltage 12V DC driver (sold separately) is required to power the strip.

The 6500K colour temperature produces a cool daylight white that sits between 6000K and 7000K on the Kelvin scale, matching natural midday light and producing high colour contrast suitable for task lighting, commercial retail displays and workspaces where clarity is needed over ambience.

What voltage driver is needed?

A constant voltage 12V DC driver is required to power the strip (note the specification states 12V DC, not 24V). The driver must supply at least 25W to power the full 5-metre strip at 5W per metre. Drivers are sold separately.

Can the strip be cut to length?

Yes. The strip is cuttable every 50mm at marked intervals along its length. Cutting at any point outside these marked intervals will damage the circuit and void the warranty.

Is it suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use?

No. The IP20 rating means the strip has no moisture protection and must only be installed in dry internal locations away from direct water contact. For bathrooms, kitchens or outdoor installations, an IP65 or IP67 rated strip is needed.

How is the strip dimmed?

Dimming requires a compatible 12V DC dimming driver and a suitable control system (wall dimmer, remote control, or smart home controller). The strip itself does not include dimming controls — dimming capability depends entirely on the driver chosen.
