Description

The Knightsbridge LED5WWW is a 51cm linkable LED strip light designed for under-cabinet and task lighting applications, running on 24V DC and delivering 625 lumens at 3000K warm white. The unit consists of an aluminium extrusion with a polycarbonate diffuser housing integrated LEDs along the 510mm length, with black plastic end caps. A 1m power cord, a linking coupler and a fixing kit are included in the box.

Designed for kitchen worktop lighting, display shelving, wardrobe interiors and office desk underlighting, the strip can be mounted horizontally or vertically using the provided clips. Multiple units can be linked end-to-end using the included coupler or optional link leads, allowing runs of up to several metres depending on the driver specification. Each strip can be individually switched even when connected in series, giving control over which sections are lit.

The 24V DC requirement means the strip must be powered by a separate constant voltage driver (sold separately), which converts 230V mains down to the safe extra-low voltage required by the fitting. Dimming is possible when paired with a compatible 24V dimmable driver and control gear. The 33mm width and 8mm projection make the strip unobtrusive when mounted under shallow wall cabinets or inside wardrobes. The aluminium body provides efficient heat dissipation for the 5W LED array, which is rated for 35,000 hours to L70 (the point at which output drops to 70% of initial lumens).

What driver is required to power this strip light?

You need a 24V DC constant voltage driver. The driver must be sized to handle the combined wattage of all linked strips plus a 10-20% overhead. For a single 5W strip a 10W driver is sufficient; for three linked strips (15W total) a 20W driver would be appropriate. Drivers are sold separately.

Can multiple strips be linked together?

Yes. The strip comes with a linking coupler that allows end-to-end connection. Optional link leads (sold separately) allow gaps between strips. Each strip can be individually switched even when linked, so you can control which sections are lit.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, but only when paired with a dimmable 24V driver and appropriate control gear. The strip itself does not contain dimming electronics, so dimming capability depends entirely on the driver you choose.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means it is not protected against moisture ingress. It should only be used in dry indoor locations away from direct water contact. For bathroom or outdoor use, consider IP44-rated or higher alternatives.
