Description

The Knightsbridge 22W LED striplight is a 1438mm linkable under-cabinet or wall-mounted fitting delivering 1730 lumens of 4000K cool white light through an opal polycarbonate diffuser. The integrated LED runs on 230V mains with a 2m power cord, and the fitting includes a coupler that allows up to 12 units to be linked in a single run from one power source.

Designed for kitchens, offices, retail displays, garages and utility rooms needing continuous task lighting across a worktop or wall run, the striplight mounts horizontally or vertically using the supplied fixing clips. The opal diffuser spreads the light evenly across a 145° beam angle, reducing glare and hotspots on work surfaces. An integrated on/off switch on the fitting provides independent control without needing a wall switch.

The polycarbonate body measures 22.8mm wide by 36mm deep, giving a low-profile appearance on white or light-coloured surfaces. The Class II double-insulated construction does not require an earth connection, simplifying installation in cabinets or on plasterboard walls. The LED is rated for 54,000 hours at L70B50 (the point at which 50% of fittings will have dropped to 70% of initial output), which translates to approximately 15 years of typical domestic use at 10 hours per day.

The 4000K cool white colour temperature produces a neutral, slightly blue-toned light that renders colours accurately for food preparation, office tasks and retail display. The CRI (Colour Rendering Index) is rated above 80, meeting the threshold for general commercial and domestic applications. The fitting is not dimmable and carries an IP20 rating, restricting it to dry indoor locations only.

Up to 12 units can be linked in a single run from one power source using the supplied couplers. Each fitting connects to the next via the coupler, and only the first unit in the chain requires connection to the mains.

Can this be used in a bathroom or outdoor covered area?

No. The IP20 rating restricts the striplight to dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathrooms, outdoor use, or any area where moisture or condensation is present.

Is the light dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver does not support dimming. The on/off switch on the fitting provides the only control.

What is the difference between 1730lm and 2565lm in the specification?

2565lm is the raw output of the LED module itself. 1730lm is the actual light output after diffuser losses, which is the figure relevant to real-world illumination. The opal diffuser absorbs some light to spread the beam evenly.
