20W CCT Adjustable Dimmable LED Emergency Bulkhead - White IP65

The Knightsbridge BT20ACTDALIEM is a 20W LED emergency bulkhead with switchable colour temperature across 3000K, 4000K and 5700K, DALI dimming control and a 3-hour emergency battery backup powered by a lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) cell. The 380mm diameter fitting houses an integrated SMD LED array behind an opal polycarbonate diffuser, delivering between 1820lm and 2070lm depending on the selected CCT setting, with 165lm maintained output when running on battery power.

Designed for communal areas, corridors, stairwells, external walkways and commercial spaces requiring both functional lighting and emergency backup, the bulkhead carries an IP65 rating that protects against dust ingress and water jets from any direction. The fitting mounts to walls or ceilings using a hinged LED gear tray that grants tool-free access to the wiring, CCT selector switch and emergency mode selector (maintained, non-maintained or switched) without removing the diffuser. A push-fit terminal block simplifies first-fix wiring and retrofit upgrades.

How is the CCT changed?

The colour temperature selector is located inside the fitting behind the diffuser. Access requires removing the diffuser (tool-free via the hinged gear tray) and toggling the CCT switch between 3000K, 4000K or 5700K. The setting applies to both mains operation and emergency mode.

What emergency modes does it support?

The bulkhead can be configured as maintained (light on constantly, switches to battery on mains failure), non-maintained (light off until mains failure, then battery power only) or switched (normal mains operation follows wall switch, emergency mode activates on mains failure). The mode is selected via an internal switch accessible during installation.

Is DALI dimming compatible with the emergency function?

DALI dimming controls the output during normal mains operation only. When the fitting switches to emergency battery power, it runs at full emergency output (165lm) regardless of the previous DALI dimming level.

What does the 5-year warranty cover?

The 5-year warranty covers the LED array, driver, polycarbonate housing and DALI control circuitry. The lithium-iron-phosphate battery is excluded from the warranty due to its consumable nature and typical 4-year service life in regular charge/discharge cycles.
